Bronzed Goddess

Besides mascara, my favorite makeup product is bronzer. I have always been extremely fair and when I finally started wearing bronzer, it changed my life.

Summer is approaching and that is my favorite time to wear bronzer. I love shimmery bronzers, matte bronzers, powder, creme and liquid.

Here’s a list of my favorite bronzers.

Too Faced Sweethearts Bronzer

I absolutely love this bronzer. It gives your skin a beautiful sheen and glow. It is also on the cool toned side so it’s perfect for fair or light-medium skin.

Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Creme Bronzer

I recently purchased this creme bronzer because I love a very dewy look in the summer. I also heard that it was a great dupe for the Soleil Tan De Chanel bronzer. I love this because it doesn’t go on thick like you would think a creme bronzer would. I swirl my powder brush by Real Techniques in it and the product melts into my skin.

Hourglass Ambient® Lighting Bronzer

My favorite high-end bronzer, the Hourglass bronzers gives such a natural, luminous glow without glitter on your face. Actually, the Too Faced Sweethearts Bronzer is a great dupe for this but I still highly recommend the Hourglass.

Your Most Beautiful You Anti-Aging Face Palette

It Cosmetics makes some of my favorite face products. This palette introduced me to highlighting and bronzing and I never looked back. I especially love the bronzer in this. It it matte but doesn’t look dull on your face. If you are a beginner with makeup, I highly recommend this palette.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer

If you haven’t tried this bronzer you have to! A cult favorite, the Butter Bronzer has a unique creme/powder finish that melts into your skin and leaves a subtle sheen. Not only is it beautiful but it smells like coconut which puts you in a summery mood.

Current Foundation Favorites

I am always on the hunt for a foundation that is going to give me flawless skin. Since I suffer from Rosacea, I look for a foundation that is going to give me good coverage while not looking dry and cakey. I love a luminous, dewy finish and tend not to gravitate towards matte foundations. You’re face can never have too much glow. Here’s a list of my current favorite foundations.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+Illumination™ Cream with SPF 50+

Although this is technically a CC cream, this foundation has become a staple in my collection. I love to wear this in the spring and summer. It gives your skin a stunning, natural luminosity while providing medium coverage. “Your Skin But Better” truly describes this product. It doesn’t look like you’re wearing foundation because it just melts into your skin and blends out beautifully.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

This has been my holy grail foundation for a long time. I have realized that my ideal foundation is lightweight, gives me a natural glow and medium to full coverage. That basically describes Nars Sheer Glow. The finish is not as luminous as the It CC cream but it’s luminous in a more subtle way. The coverage is medium to full and is perfect for covering my Rosacea without looking cakey, thick and dry.

Hourglass Vanish™ Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

Newer to my collection, this little stick has quickly made it into my holy grail foundations. At first I was hesitant to try a stick foundation but the reviews were incredible so I had to give it a go. The finish isn’t matte but it isn’t dewy. It is a perfect balance of the two and the finish gives you an airbrushed look.

Clean Beauty

I had my first facial last week and it was such an amazing experience. Not only did it feel great, it was very informative. My esthetician told me that so many beauty and makeup products on the market have toxins and chemicals that we should not be putting anywhere near our skin. Some people may argue that they use Maybelline, or L’Oréal makeup and haven’t noticed anything bad happening to their skin. However, it may not be an immediate reaction. The whole point is that it can affect your skin as you age. Also, if you suffer from acne or skin issues, it very well could be from the toxins in your beauty and makeup products.

Here’s some clean beauty products I want to try…

Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Flawless Serum Foundation

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Luminizer

Physicians Formula Organic wear® 100% Natural Origin Jumbo Lash Mascara

RMS Beauty Cream Eye Polish

Herbivore Coco Rose Body Polish

Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint

February 2017 Beauty Favorites

To be honest, thank god February is over. I am not a winter person and the closer we get to spring, the happier I get. However, there were a lot of beauty products I tried and loved in the month of February.

Facial mists have been popular in the beauty world lately. They help to add moisture to your face before or after your makeup. The rose water mists are most popular but since I am not a fan of rose scent, I decided to try the Kiehl’s Cactus Flower & Tibetan Ginseng Hydrating Mist. I love the fresh scent and it’s not too overpowering. I spray it on my freshly washed face before my makeup.

Although highlighting is nothing new to me, I tend to do a bold highlight on an everyday basis. A lot of beauty bloggers that I follow started getting into a more subtle, “glow from within” highlight and after looking through my countless numbers of highlighters, I realized I didn’t really have any subtle highlighters. I heard people raving about the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter so of course I had to try it. It gives you a beautiful, natural glow. I like to put this on my cheek bones as well as the center of my forehead and down the bridge of my nose.

I love the Colourpop Pressed Eyeshadows. They are so creamy, pigmented and affordable. I’ve already purchased a bunch and I used them pretty much every day in February.

Urban Decay recently re released their All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray along with other sprays in the range. I had tried the original All-Nighter spray and didn’t like it. When they came out with it again, I decided to try it again because I had heard they reformulated it a bit. I have to say, it is so much better and I use it everyday now. I really do notice that my makeup stays on longer.

Let me know what products you loved in February!

Bobs

I am so excited to get my hair cut next week. My hair is fairly long, but since my hair is on the thinner side and I have an extensive history of dying it, it’s in rough shape. I usually get urges to chop my hair off every few years. I haven’t had it cut short in a while and since my ends are thin and dry, it’s the perfect time to chop it off. I have been inspired by Olivia Culpo’s trendy bob and I’ve decided I’m going to get mine cut like hers. Here’s some bob cut inspiration that has gotten me excited for a new do.
